WebCT Development

WebCT (Web Course Tools) is an integrated set of tools for developing and delivering interactive courses over the internet.

As a WebCT Developer The Web Maid is involved in transferring files to a format more suited to the web. This usually involves receiving PowerPoint, Word or Excel files, transferring them to html, cleaning up the code, applying templates and then uploading the finished file to the WebCT course. It can also involve designing the overall look of the course by designing and producing templates and icons, optimising graphics and choosing colour schemes.

Further development of a WebCT course can also include organisation and addition of other components such as discussion boards, content modules, organiser pages and quizzes.

Web Site Design

The Web Maid offers affordable but professional web site design. Specialising in personalised web sites for every personality, organisation or business type. Sites are individually designed in consultation with the client. Samples of The Web Maid's work can be seen on the Portfolio page.

Web Site Maintenance

The Web Maid is able to update web sites and keep the information current from a remote location. The changes can be emailed or phoned through, and when they are done can be loaded directly to the site or emailed back to the client.

Web Site Spring Cleaning

Many small businesses/organisations and individuals prefer to produce their own web site rather than use a designer. Unfortunately many self-produced sites don’t work well in all browsers, have poor navigation, broken links, graphics that take too long to load, out of date information or missing information.

The Spring Cleaning service is for these clients. It involves looking at the site from the point of view of a customer and noting any potential problems.

An evaluation sheet is sent to the client. This will include an obligation free quote from The Web Maid to make these changes for the client.

Word Processing/Desktop Publishing/
Document design and formatting

	Typing letters, reports, assignments, minutes, manuals, mailing lists, labels, general correspondence, theses etc. Specialising in mail merges, tables, forms and mathematical formulae.
	Mail merge – The Web Maid can produce the merged letters (from a database) and email them back to the client. Or produce the whole package – print the letters, stuff the envelopes, stamp and post them.
	Handwritten documents can be faxed or mailed to The Web Maid who will email or mail them back to the client, ready to printed on their printer, saved to their disk or edited and updated by themselves.
	Unformatted documents can be emailed to The Web Maid. They will be accurately formatted to the clients exact specifications, or The Web Maid design it for them. Index
